Foodies are on first name basis with every chef that matters from Jamie to Marco Pierre to Nigella. They know their mascarpone from their mozzarella and can cook roast goose, razor fish or cauliflower three-ways without working up the suggestion of a sweat, or messing up their bench top.
You know that if they were on a cooking programme, they would win it – but they don’t like to show other people up. Which is why their guests always go home with a specially made jar of chutney, or cherries in kirsch, or a basket of handpicked limequats. (Yes, that’s a thing.)
Now is the time to treat them for a change, and fortunately we have just the solution.
