Maybe they talk to their plants. Maybe not. But passionate gardeners will take joy from every shoot, every flower, and every fruit. And they’ll nurture and guard them as if they were their own children.
Some favour bird baths, and formal parterres that would give Versailles a run for their money, (maybe a bit smaller. OK a lot smaller). Or cottage gardens where the colour, fragrance and abundance has its own glory. Then there’s the option of cool, native bush walks that nestle in to the landscape.
What’s shared by them all is a commitment now and for generations to come. For those of us who’d even be able to kill a plastic aspidistra now is our opportunity to celebrate these geniuses.
